Outdoor Recreation in the Treasure Valley

Ride, Socialize, Travel ... Repeat

About Us

Community Bicycle Rides was founded in 2005 by Jeff Larsen for adult recreational riders in Idaho’s Treasure Valley preparing for local charity rides and multi-day touring events. We have evolved over the years into a club bringing together adults to enjoy group recreational bicycle riding of all kinds as part of an active lifestyle. In 2023, Jeff moved out of state, so CBR changed its name to Cooperative Biking & Recreation, to align with our new mission.  Our group now includes all types of cycling, backpacking, hiking, and other outdoor activities. We still leave no one behind, and still focus on safety and training during our activities.  We stop as a group and work as a team. Each group has a designated leader and sweeper. We discuss safety issues, equipment suggestions and repair strategies as well as the technique and etiquette of group activities to help you safely enjoy your experience.

CBR Group Ride Options

Club Road Rides are moderately paced with some hills. We use regroup points and rest stops to stay together.  Some Details:

  • Multiple Speed groups and distances offered. Typical speed groups are 13-15mph and 16-18mph.
  • Course routes are ideal for those just getting into the sport of road riding.
  • Road bikes are ideal. Hybrid or gravel bikes work, too.
  • Helmets are mandatory. Music players such as IPOD's are not allowed. Riding on aero bars is not allowed.

Social Road Rides on Tuesday Nights are no drop, hosted rides with multiple speed groups as needed.  Don't forget the optional after spot!

Club Mountain Bike Rides are ideal for those just getting into the sport of Mountain Biking.
